Morality of Evil
Showing currently on ABC1 is a 4 Corners documentary about forced adoptions faced by unmarried women in Australia in the decades up to the 1970’s. Because Christianity had such a prime influence in social and healthcare politics in this era, unmarried women who fell pregnant typically had their newborn children forcefuly removed from them and adopted out, without even being allowed to see...

Hug the Fucking Trees and See if We Care
Today I reloaded the printer in my office no less than 8 times. On each of those occasions, I placed exactly 500 sheets of A4 paper into the feeder tray. My office therefore used no less than 4000 sheets of paper today. The office operates 5.5 days a week, 52 weeks a year. Today was not an unusual day. Ergo, we use approximately 1 million, 1 hundred and fifty thousand sheets per year. ...

heartbreakher: There is nothing worse than vegans/vegetarians trying to make meat eaters feel guilty or criminal about their chosen lifestyle.  We get it, you don’t eat meat, all power to you - now please shut up. Stupid self-righteous anemic fuckers

Moving On
Sometimes I think about all the living musicians that I admire and, truthfully, most of them are past the primes of their careers and and reaching old age. Some of them even weren’t even particularly popular or famous during their time. I have a feeling that I take my camera on an extended vacation to Europe/The US and track down all my favorite living musicians and ask them really nicely...

Philosophy in a Nutshell
You don’t exist Everything you think is wrong, or, at the very least, completely subjective Your thoughts don’t exist Your thoughts only exist as much as you think they do God doesn’t exist God exists as much as you think he/she does God is cat Morality is inherently absurd Everything you think is based on your subconscious repressed sexual urges you feel toward your...

All Work and no Play
Been thinking of so many topics/ideas for essays/rants lately. My tumblr drafts page is becoming my de facto notebook.  Hopefully when I get some time I’ll be able to expand them all my heavily summarized blargh into coherent argumentative prose for your enjoyment. Also, looking forward to spending days on end researching some obscure things I’ve developed interests into and...

A Cruel Injustice
I overheard something rather saddening today. The thing that is worse though is that I think I know how the situation could be fixed but I can do nothing because I am not in the right position of power. A cruel world doesn’t need to be made more cruel for an innocent person. I wish I could set this right.

I have a model!
One of my best friend’s sisters really wants me to take her for a photoshoot. It’s in awkward territory because she’s my friends sister, and yeah. He has repeatedly told me that he’d beat my head in if I took photos of her. And I don’t have a car and I’m pretty sure she doesn’t have her P’s yet so that pretty much eliminates the possibility of...

At the Mercy of Ourselves!
You know, I think one thing that is really quite poignant is that 99% of all problems faced by people today are the direct results of the actions of other people. I really, really, really wish that there’s some kind of massive social change during my lifetime. It is my one and only wish that my generation will awaken to consider the wide-ranging and far-reaching consequences of their...

Culture Shocker
L: Sam, you seem like you belong in Melbourne. S: Why’s that, I don’t even have a beard or know anything about being a hipster. L: Hah, it’s not that. S: I don’t get it. L: I don’t know, just it’s because, like, you seem to understand things like the fact that I’m an Asian Australian. You don’t say things like “But you look so Asian!”...

Teacher, leave them kids alone!
Today on the train I saw one of my old teachers from high school and he’d been drinking prior to running into me and it was really quite an experience to have an honest and frank chat with him at his least reserved.
